I am a designer, communicator, storyteller and facilitator.
Don’t be fooled by the smiley faces, I take saving the world very seriously. My motivation to create opportunities for social action, education and diverse communication informs every aspect of my work – promoting a more connected, exciting and equal world.
I am not tied to one medium, the diversity of which might confuse, but the reasoning is simple: I choose communication channels that suit the challenge. I am particularly drawn to editorial design because I thrive in the process of balancing words together and alongside illustrations – another medium that often appears in my projects as I pursue communication on multiple levels.
I use design as a tool – championing user-centred processes, iterative prototyping and craft techniques – to react to real people and real problems. I avoid the label 'social designer' because all design is inherently social. I am a 'designer for change' and my practice challenges perceptions of what these labels look like.
My work is driven by research that reveals unique insights into audiences and topics. I use my visual and written voice to share my discoveries in accessible but beautiful ways.
Outside of design I continue my mission of through hands-on social activism. Tackling issues from Female Genital Mutilation to refugee integration with several campaigning and volunteer groups. Through these experiences I have worked with a diversity of incredible individuals and found spaces to put my design and social media skills to the test.
I also run, cycle, sew and listen to
banging music.
